Cohiba 1966 Edicion Limitada 2011

The 1966 commemorates Cohiba’s 45th anniversary and is named for the year that Cohiba was created, when it was Fidel Castro’s personal smoke and only available through diplomatic channels. Cohiba did not become commercially available until 1982 and the Edicion Limitada program didn’t officially begin until 2000. Unlike most other Cohibas, the 1966 is only available on a limited basis.

The wrapper is darker than those usually found on Cubans, which is typical of cigars released for the limited-edition program and one of its defining characteristics. As these are destined to be a hot auction item, one might conceivably purchase any remaining boxes as an investment, but as this Cohiba 1966 really represents everything we love about Cuban cigars from its flavor to its richness to the overall harmonious and aromatic experience, it is better to smoke them than to sell them.

Great cigar! Cohiba Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada 2011 offers excellent quality and flavor. Notes of coffee and dark chocolate throughout, good burn, nice draw. Not quite perfect but very close. Will definitely order again!

Incredible cigar! The Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada 2011 from Cohiba is absolutely exceptional. Smooth, complex, and beautifully balanced. Got wonderful notes of nuts and caramel throughout the smoke. Lasted about 51 minutes. Already ordering another box!

Excellent cigar from Cohiba. The Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada 2011 has a refined flavor profile – lots of earth and cedar. Draw was perfect and it burned for about 90 minutes. Only minor complaint is it’s slightly strong for my taste, but overall a great smoke.

This is hands down one of the best cigars I’ve smoked this year. The Cohiba Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada 2011 exceeded all expectations. Rich, creamy smoke with complex notes of nuts and caramel. Construction is perfect, ash holds firm. Worth every penny!

Excellent cigar from Cohiba. The Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada 2011 has a refined flavor profile – lots of honey and toast. Draw was perfect and it burned for about 55 minutes. Only minor complaint is it’s slightly strong for my taste, but overall a great smoke.

The Cohiba Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada 2011 is a quality cigar. Nice balance of flavor and strength. I enjoyed the coffee and dark chocolate notes throughout. Construction was very good with only one minor touch-up needed. Good cigar for experienced smokers.

Decent cigar but not my favorite from Cohiba. The Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada 2011 has good flavor – leather and spice – but didn’t wow me like other Cubans I’ve had. Construction was fine, burn was mostly even. It’s good, just not exceptional. Worth trying though.

The Cohiba 1966 Edición Limitada 2011 is a respectable cigar. Nice notes of cedar and cream, decent construction. However, I found it a bit one-dimensional compared to other Cohiba offerings. Not bad, but there are better options in this price range.
