(Box of 25 cigars)  5 5/8 x 46

Pure (Colorado Claro), very uniform brown shade, speckles of crystalline plume. Very engaging wrapper. I usually don’t like secondary bands, however the further “Añejados” band truly enhances the presentation. Black and white ash.

Description

That is the 4th within the new Añejados line. As Inspector famous in his review of the HdM Añejados, the Añejados program have all been aged for 5 to eight years of their authentic packaging. At that time the packaging is opened and the cigars are checked for high quality. Then the unique band is positioned again on the stogies and a second Añejados band is hooked up to every. The containers are stamped with the phrase “revisado,” which suggests “checked.” Every Añejados providing is a novel vitola for the actual model; so, that is the one Partagas presently supplied in a coronas gordas vitola.

The Habanos, S.A. press launch famous, “By the growing old course of, the cigar has developed, changing into rounder and mellower to the palate with touches of delicate and sweetish style and, above all, acquiring shades of woody style due to being positioned for all these years close to the cedar from which the containers had been made.” I’m undecided what containers the copywriter was , as a result of the Partagas Corona Gorda Añejados is available in a cardboard gown field.

Look

Pure (Colorado Claro), very uniform brown shade, speckles of crystalline plume. Very engaging wrapper. I usually don’t like secondary bands, however the further “Añejados” band truly enhances the presentation. Black and white ash.

Development :
Feels well-constructed, constant all through, though maybe a little bit free or underfilled. As soon as clipped, I spotted the draw was comfortable and ideal. Wonderful quantity of smoke. Burn was sharp, and just a bit uneven. No touch-ups required. Lasted over two hours, however I believe would usually burn for nearer to 1 hour, forty-five minutes.

Taste :
Opens medium power, very clean and nice. Numerous flavors come by means of, however none dominate. A bit earth, a little bit salt, some leather-based, mild black pepper, a little bit oak char, a touch of milk chocolate… Actually rather a lot occurring. Very good. Clean and flavorful, no chunk on the retrohale. Sadly, not a lot of a end. About midway, a number of the softer flavors fall to the spice and astringency.

General Ranking :
The query many individuals are asking: Are these actually specifically rolled Partagas coronas gordas that Habanos deliberate to place in an añejados program again in 2007 or are they merely rebanded cigars from one other marca? Properly, in a blind take a look at, I don’t assume I might have stated Partagas. I’d have guessed these had been a a lot better Punch than I’m used to (I don’t smoke Punch fairly often). This query bothered me a lot, I cracked open a field of discontinued Partagas Coronas (GSO – Oct ’06) and smoked them side-by-side to match. The Partagas Coronas was a little bit extra peppery and a little bit extra uncooked, however comparable sufficient. The Partagas band on the Añejados is the newer kind, however I can’t say that they weren’t out there in October 2007; nonetheless, the band appears new. For my part, the cigars might have been rolled in 2007, however they had been banded and packaged this yr. Does any of this matter? Most likely not. For these curious, the Añejados was higher than the Coronas: extra flavorful, higher draw, nicer smoke; though much less of the basic Partagas taste profile.

The cigar is a delight, however the Añejados worth level appears barely excessive. The distinctive vitola ensures that it doesn’t straight compete in opposition to cigars personally aged, however how a lot of a premium is 5 to eight years price? On this case, is eight full years of growing old price double the value one would count on for a Partagas coronas gordas? That partially is determined by what number of containers can be found for launch and if the releases are restricted to only one yr. Habanos S.A. must make clear this in the event that they wish to create demand for the Añejados program.
General, whereas I’m not satisfied that the Partagas Corona Gorda Añejados is strictly what Habanos represents, the cigar scores an excellent 4.5 of 5.

The shipping took about 8 days for it to be delivered. When it arrived the cigars were in good shape. Just a tad dry probably from the shipping but overall. I left them in my humidor and they were good as new. The taste of the cigar was really smooth. Partagas is one of my favorite cigars if you have the time and place to sit and enjoy it.
