Founded in 1902 and named after Simón Bolívar, the Liberator who freed much of South America from Spanish rule, the Bolivar marca has long carried a reputation for sheer power. Rolled today at the historic Partagás factory in Havana, Bolivar is widely regarded as one of the most full-bodied of all Habanos, built on richly flavoured long-filler tobaccos grown in Cuba’s celebrated Vuelta Abajo region. The Lonsdales takes that bold blend and stretches it into a classic 6.5 inch (165 mm) by 42 ring gauge format, an elegant shape that gives the smoke room to breathe and evolve.
Flavor profile by thirds
The opening third tends to lead with earthy depth, a layer of cocoa, and a faint crackle of black pepper that signals the strength to come.
