San Cristobal de la Habana is one of Cuba's most storied marcas — every cigar hand-rolled in Havana from sun-grown Vuelta Abajo leaf, aged and crafted by master torcedores under the official Habanos S.A. seal.
It's not just a cigar. It's an experience reserved for the true connoisseur.
Explore San Cristobal de la Habana
Every San Cristobal La Punta is guaranteed 100% authentic, sourced directly from Habanos S.A. with the official seal and full traceability from Vuelta Abajo to your door.
San Cristobal de la Habana arrived on the Cuban scene on November 20, 1999, named for the city Havana once was, and its four founding vitolas took their names from the stone fortresses that guarded the harbor. La Punta honors the Castillo de San Salvador de la Punta, the bastion that watched over the bay during Spain’s long rule. Rolled entirely with leaf from the Vuelta Abajo region, this tapered pyramid carries the elegance and the historical weight that have made the marca a favorite among collectors who prize a figurado.
The first third opens gently, with aromas of leather and a whisper of baking spice giving way to soft almond and a fresh-bread sweetness on the palate. Through the middle, the cigar gathers body as a rich creaminess rises and mingles with cedar, cocoa, and a touch of stone fruit. The final third holds that creamy spine while leather and roasted coffee notes deepen, the medium to full character settling in without ever turning harsh.
La Punta smokes beautifully young, yet a few years of patient rest tends to round the spice and lift the creamy, nutty sweetness. Keep your cigars in a well seasoned humidor held near 65 to 70 percent relative humidity and a steady room temperature. The tapered head means the foot of a pyramid sits a little exposed, so check your humidification regularly and rotate the box to keep the wrapper supple and even.
This is a cigar for the smoker who loves the pointed pyramid shape and the way it concentrates flavor as the burn widens toward the foot. The medium to full profile makes it approachable for those building experience while still rewarding the seasoned palate. Set aside roughly an hour, since La Punta is meant to be savored slowly rather than rushed.

Decent cigar but not my favorite from San Cristobal. The San Cristobal La Punta has good flavor – cocoa and pepper – but didn’t wow me like other Cubans I’ve had. Construction was fine, burn was mostly even. It’s good, just not exceptional. Worth trying though.

The San Cristobal La Punta is a respectable cigar. Nice notes of honey and tobacco, decent construction. However, I found it a bit one-dimensional compared to other San Cristobal offerings. Not bad, but there are better options in this price range.
