Presented in France by Habanos last July, the Quai d’Orsay Senadores has just arrived in Switzerland! The launch took place as part of the brand’s 45th anniversary celebrations held in Paris as a testament to the close link between the Quai d’Orsay brand and its namesake on the River Seine.
To make this vitola, the cap and filler leaves are from the Vuelta Abajo and were meticulously selected and then aged for a minimum of two yearsbefore being rolled in the “Totalmente a Mano” tradition.
The Senadores is a Hermosos No.2, a vitola measuring 48 ring gauge and 157mm long (6.1 inches). It has never been used before by Quai d’Orsayand is quite rare as it has only been used for special productions, two regional editions (Juan López Maximos 2008 Suiza and Bolívar Emperador 2011 Rusia) and a limited edition with the Romeo y Julieta Hermosos No.2 of 2004. We should see it appear again next year as part of the Edición Limitada with the Partagás Legado.
The Quai d’Orsay Senadores is available in limited quantities and comes in a box of 25 cigars, each one with a second ring stamped “Edición Limitada 2019“! A small novelty regarding the packaging, as this new limited editionis presented in an exclusive, lacquered box with circular motifs featuring the brand logo. The result is a sensational effect!
