The Cuaba Piramides Edicion Limitada 2008 holds a singular place in Habanos history, the first and only time the Cuaba marca was selected for the prestigious Edicion Limitada program. Rolled as a double figurado in the brand’s signature pre-revolutionary style, this Piramides measures 6.1 inches (156 mm) by a 52 ring gauge and was presented in dress boxes of ten. Every leaf, from wrapper to binder to filler, was aged a minimum of two years before rolling, lending the smoke a depth and polish that only patient curing can produce. Cigar Aficionado rated it 89 points in February 2009, and it remains one of the most sought after releases the brand has ever issued.
The opening third arrives with a confident push of tobacco, sweet and black pepper threading through a creamy hazelnut core. As the burn settles into the middle, the figurado shape concentrates the smoke and coaxes out cocoa, wet cedar, and a worn leather sweetness, with the body sitting comfortably in medium-to-full territory.
