Explore Montecristo
Every MonteCristo Petit Edmundo is guaranteed 100% authentic, sourced directly from Habanos S.A. with the official seal and full traceability from Vuelta Abajo to your door.
The Montecristo Petit Edmundo distills the legendary Montecristo blend into a stout, satisfying smoke that never feels rushed. Launched by Habanos S.A. in 2006, it arrived as a shorter companion to the popular Edmundo and became one of the first stubby large-ring formats Cuba produced for smokers who wanted a generous cigar in less time. Despite its modest length, this Petit Robusto carries the dark, cocoa-laden personality that has defined the Montecristo marca since its founding in 1935, and many aficionados find it punches well above its size.
The opening third settles into well-defined wood and cedar, framed by double-roasted coffee and an unmistakable note of cocoa that signals its Montecristo lineage. As the burn moves into the second third, earth and walnut step forward, the leather deepens, and a gentle spice keeps the medium body lively without ever turning harsh. Through the final stretch the smoke grows richer and a touch fuller, closing on a long, nutty finish laced with bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee.
The Petit Edmundo smokes beautifully young, yet it rewards patience. Kept in a seasoned humidor held near 65 to 70 percent relative humidity and around 16 to 18 degrees Celsius, the spice settles over a year or two and the cocoa and cedar grow rounder and sweeter. The thick 52 ring gauge gives plenty of tobacco to mature, so a box rested for several years can develop notable depth and a softer, creamier core.
This is a cigar for the smoker who wants genuine Montecristo flavor without committing to a longer vitola. Newcomers appreciate its approachable medium body, while seasoned palates value the complexity packed into the format. It suits a quick morning smoke with coffee just as well as an unhurried evening, and its short stature makes it an ideal travel companion or after-dinner choice.
What size is the Montecristo Petit Edmundo?
It is a Petit Robusto measuring 4.3 inches (110 mm) with a 52 ring gauge, giving it a short but thick, hand-filling shape.
Is the Petit Edmundo a strong cigar?
It sits in the medium range for the marca, leaning toward medium-full in the final third. It is flavorful and rich rather than overpowering, which makes it accessible while still rewarding experienced smokers.
How long does it take to smoke?
Thanks to its compact 4.3-inch length, most smokers enjoy it in roughly 35 to 50 minutes, making it a great option when time is limited.
