Every Quai D'orsay No. 50 is guaranteed 100% authentic, sourced directly from Habanos S.A. with the official seal and full traceability from Vuelta Abajo to your door.
Quai D’Orsay holds a quietly distinguished place among Cuban marcas. The brand was created in 1973 at the request of its French distributor, conceived from the start as a refined, lighter Havana intended to flatter Champagne and elegant company rather than overwhelm it. In 2017 Habanos revived the line with two fresh formats, and the No. 50 arrived as the compact, easygoing expression of that relaunch. Pressed into a 4.3 inch Petit Robusto with a 50 ring gauge and dressed in a smooth Colorado wrapper, it captures the house signature of restraint and polish in a short, satisfying smoke.
The opening third sets a creamy, gently sweet tone, with soft vanilla and a touch of light coffee carried over a cedary core. As the cigar settles into its middle, toasted hazelnut and warm bread join in, the coffee firms up, and a faint toffee sweetness lingers on the finish. Through the final inches the smoke keeps its composure, leaning a little more toward wood and a mild earthiness while never losing that smooth, rounded character. Strength and body both sit comfortably around the mild to medium mark from light to nub.
Keep your No. 50 in a well seasoned humidor held around 65 to 70 percent relative humidity and roughly 18 degrees Celsius. As a lighter Havana, it shows beautifully young, yet a year or two of rest tends to marry its flavors and soften any youthful edges, allowing the vanilla and nut notes to deepen. Store the cigars away from stronger, more pungent smokes so the marca’s delicate character is preserved.
This is an ideal entry point for newcomers to Cuban tobacco, offering genuine Havana complexity without intensity that might overpower a beginner. Seasoned smokers reach for it too, especially when they want a shorter, refined cigar to start the day or to enjoy alongside a coffee or a glass of bubbles. If your taste runs toward smooth, creamy, and elegant rather than bold and peppery, the No. 50 belongs in your rotation.
